Shipping Flowers for Preservation

Shipping Instructions

For the least expensive option on shipping flowers use your local Post Office. For best results use Overnight. The quicker we get the flowers the better end result. Keep your flowers hydrated and in the refrigerator until shipment, DO NOT FREEZE.

Packing Your Flowers:

Please call the nearest dealer so we can be expecting your package.

1. If the flowers are in a bouquet holder (green Styrofoam attached to a handle) then pour water carefully into the oasis (green Styrofoam part) of the bouquet holder until it is saturated. Be careful not to get water on the petals.
2. If the bouquet has stems cut each stem about 1/2 inch off the bottom. Wrap the stems with a wet paper towel and then with clear plastic wrap and secure the paper towel with rubber bands.
3. If you have loose flowers first check for any large delicate flowers (lilies, orchids, iris, hibiscus, etc.) If you have some of these being sent, make a cone shape structure from the card stock or other paper to fit around the flower head only. Attach the narrow end of the cone to the stem of the flower with masking tape. If you have hollow flowers such as tulips, very gently place a cotton ball or two in the center of the flower to support its shape. Wrap the stems with a wet paper towel and then with clear plastic wrap and secure the paper towel with rubber bands.
4. Place the bouquet or loose flowers in the box you are using. Secure the flowers so that they cannot move. Be careful not to damage the heads of the flowers. You can wire them on or use packing or duct tape. Loose flowers can also be secured to each other in a staggered pattern making sure that the flower heads are not smashing each other and then secured in the box. Make sure that everything is secured so that the flowers are not flinging around and do not have a chance of being crushed.
5. Fill the box with newspaper or packing peanuts.
6. Label the shipping box "Fragile, Perishable" and write "This Side Up" on the box.

If you are only shipping boutonnières or corsages use these adapted instructions:

1. Place the flowers in a plastic boutonnière or corsage box. Tape them securely to the bottom of the box making sure to not damage any flower heads. Tape the box closed.
2. Place the boutonnière or corsage box in another box.
3. Fill the box with packing peanuts or newspaper making sure the boutonnière or corsage box will not move.
4. Label the shipping box "Fragile, Perishable" and write "This Side Up" on the box.
5. Shipping overnight is the preferred method to ensure the freshness of the flowers!!
